Lady Bullpups Secure Second Win in Shakey’s Volleyball Invitational League

Manila: Division 1 defending champion National University-Nazareth School triumphed over Lyceum of the Philippines University-Cavite, 25-14, 25-14, to claim its second victory in Pool A of the Shakey's Girls Volleyball Invitational League (SGVIL) Rising Stars Cup at the La Salle Green Hills Gym.

According to Philippines News Agency, Raine Alonzo spearheaded the Lady Bullpups' win with an impressive 11 points, consisting of 10 successful attacks and one ace. Her teammates, Splash Obera and Ysabella Cruz, contributed significantly to the team's performance by scoring eight points each. Reflecting on her performance, Alonzo stated, "When I made an error at the beginning of the game, I told myself I would make up for it. I can't just make errors and I need to contribute to the team."

In Pool C, St. John's Institute maintained its winning streak with Eileen Yanson and Caera Celis each scoring eight points, leading their team to victory over the University of the Philippines Integrated School with scores of 25-17, 25-11. Meanwhile, in Pool D, Season 2 champion Adamson University secured a win against Emilio Aguinaldo College, 25-16, 25-9, placing them alongside the University of Santo Tomas at the top of the pool.

In Division 2, reigning champion Domuschola International School celebrated its second consecutive win by overcoming San Beda University, 16-25, 25-19, 15-13. MGC-New Life Academy Christian Academy also found success, marking their entry into the win column with a 25-12, 25-18 victory over The Beacon Academy in Pool E. Additionally, teams such as University of Santo Tomas-B (Pool F), Assumption Antipolo (Pool G), and University of Batangas High School (Pool H) maintained 2-0 records in their respective pools.
