Lim and Olivarez Secure Second Round Berths at Gentry Open Tennis

San jose del monte: Top seed Alberto Lim Jr. and No. 2 seed Jed Olivarez have advanced to the second round of the Gentry National Open Tennis Championships held at Colegio San Agustin.

According to Philippines News Agency, Lim, who recently clinched the title at the Philippine Columbian Association Open, defeated Patrick Paumar with a score of 6-0, 6-0. Lim's next opponent is Richard Bautista, who advanced after Philippe Coteron withdrew from the competition.

Olivarez also advanced with a decisive win over Kian John Sanchez, finishing with a 6-0, 6-0 scoreline. He is set to face John Christopher Sonsona in the next round, who overcame Carlos Jose Austria with scores of 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Other players advancing to the next round include No. 4 seed John Benedict Aguilar, No. 5 seed John Kendrick Bona, No. 6 seed Ronard Joven, No. 7 seed Nilo Ledama, and No. 8 seed Loucas Julian Fernandez. Aguilar defeated Hilbert San Jose, 6-4, 6-2, while Bona triumphed over Nash Agustines, 6-4, 6-1. Joven beat Sammie Qui±o, 6-1, 6-0, Ledama won against Kean Sebastian Enriquez, 6-2, 6-0, and Fernandez prevailed over Jan Andre Rodriguez, 6-1, 6-1.

The champion in the men's singles will receive PHP300,000, with the runner-up earning PHP150,000. In the women's division, the singles champion will be awarded PHP100,000, and the runner-up will receive PHP50,000.
