LPA and Easterlies to Cause Rainfall Across Regions in the Philippines

Manila: A low-pressure area (LPA) off the coast of Samar, along with easterly winds affecting Luzon, is expected to bring rainfall to several parts of the Philippines, as reported by the weather bureau. According to Philippines News Agency, as of 3 a.m., the LPA was located 340 kilometers east of Borongan, Eastern Samar, as stated by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). This weather system is predicted to result in scattered rains and thunderstorms across Metro Manila, Visayas, Calabarzon, the Bicol Region, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Zamboanga del Norte. PAGASA has issued warnings for potential flash floods or landslides in these areas due to moderate to heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon is expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, influenced by the easterlies. Similar weather patterns are anticipated for the remainder of Min danao, caused by localized thunderstorms. Moderate winds and moderate coastal waters are expected along the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and the Visayas, while light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas are forecast for the rest of the archipelago.
