LTFRB Investigates Isabela Road Crash and Expedites Insurance Payout

Luna: The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has initiated an investigation and expedited the release of insurance payouts following a deadly collision between a truck and a passenger jeepney in Luna, Isabela. The tragic incident occurred on Wednesday morning, resulting in three fatalities and several injuries.

According to Philippines News Agency, LTFRB Chair Vigor Mendoza II stated that these actions align with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to provide maximum assistance to road crash victims. Chair Mendoza emphasized the importance of protecting and expediting the victims' rights to insurance payment, acknowledging that while financial assistance cannot replace lives lost or ease the pain of bereavement, it is crucial to support the affected families.

LTFRB personnel have been tasked with investigating the incident and obtaining the necessary police report. Richard Dayag, Director of LTFRB 2 (Cagayan Valley), has been in contact with the transport cooperative responsible for the jeepney and the Passenger Accident Management and Insurance Agency, Inc. to ensure swift processing of the insurance claims.

The LTFRB has also issued a show cause order to the operator of the passenger jeepney. This is a part of the investigation to assess the roadworthiness of the vehicle involved in the crash.
