Quezon city: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) arrested 15 fixers in an entrapment operation as part of its intensified campaign against fixing.

According to Philippines News Agency, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao stated that the operation is part of the agency's ongoing effort to eliminate fixing, deception, and other illegal activities, and to ensure that all transactions with the agency are conducted properly, legally, and transparently. "Hindi bibigyan ng puwang ng LTO ang mga fixer at anumang ilegal na transaksyon (The LTO will not give room to fixers and any illegal transaction)," the agency emphasized.

The operation, executed on Wednesday, was spearheaded by the LTO Law Enforcement Service (LES) in collaboration with the Kamuning Police Station 10, the Quezon City District Police Office, and the Philippine Coast Guard. In addition to the entrapment operation, the Quezon City Department of Public Order and Safety and the LTO conducted a clearing operation around the compound to remove unauthorized side vendors who may be offering illegal services or acting as fixers for the agency's clients.

The arrested fixers were taken to Kamuning Police Station 10 for investigation and the filing of corresponding cases. LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao asserted that the LTO will continue to enhance its operations to protect the public and maintain a clean, fast, and honest service.
