Calabarzon: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has initiated a license plate distribution caravan for motorcycles purchased and registered in Calabarzon at various malls in the region. This initiative aims to streamline and expedite the release of license plates in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive.
According to Philippines News Agency, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II announced in a Facebook post that the caravan began on Monday. The LTO has collaborated with several malls to make the distribution process more comfortable for clients. Mendoza expressed gratitude to mall managements, especially SM Supermalls and Robinsons, for their support and cooperation in achieving this goal.
The caravan targets motorcycle plates bought and registered between 2014 and 2017 in Calabarzon, which includes Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon provinces. The schedule includes several locations, with events at Robinsons Novaliches, Robinsons Antipolo, SM Caloocan City, SM Center Las Pi±as, SM City Marikina, SM City Olongapo Central, SM City Fairview, and SM City BF Para±aque on specified dates.
Motorcycle owners are reminded by Mendoza to bring necessary documents to ensure a smooth and fast distribution. Required documents include original and photocopies of their Official Receipt/Certificate of Registration (OR/CR), a valid ID of the registered owner, and a deed of sale if the motorcycle is not yet registered under the name of the claimants. This distribution effort is part of LTO's initiative to address an 11-year backlog involving millions of plates, primarily for motorcycles.
