LTO Dispatches Personnel to Assist Delivery of Goods Across PH

Manila: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has dispatched personnel to assist trucks and other delivery vehicles in transporting basic goods across the country in the aftermath of heavy rains and floods caused by subsequent storms and enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat). In a statement, LTO Acting Assistant Secretary Greg Pua Jr. announced that the assistance extends to trucks and other vehicles delivering relief goods and necessary aid to areas impacted by inclement weather.

According to Philippines News Agency, under the guidance of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon, all regional directors have been instructed to mobilize sufficient personnel for road assistance to government vehicles delivering relief goods and those transporting equipment for search, rescue, and road clearing operations. This order aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive for a whole-of-government approach in providing aid to Filipinos affected by recent weather disturbances.

The LTO's instruction also includes trucks and vehicles transporting basic goods to markets to ensure that the flow of commodities remains uninterrupted amid ongoing weather challenges. LTO personnel, particularly enforcement units, have been directed to assist motorists needing help due to road conditions in most parts of Luzon.

Additionally, LTO enforcement units are tasked with enforcing road rules and regulations, focusing on erring motorists who drive recklessly during wet conditions. LTO encourages the public to report reckless drivers who compromise road safety. Concerns can be communicated through the AksyOn the Spot hotline at 09292920865.
