Bacolod: The Land Transportation Office-Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) has intensified transport terminal inspections to ensure road safety and compliance with traffic regulations during holiday travel.

According to Philippines News Agency, the operations are part of the Department of Transportation-LTO's 'Oplan Biyaheng Ayos! Pasko 2025,' a nationwide enforcement and commuter assistance campaign running from December 20, 2025, to January 4, 2026. On Monday, six personnel of the LTO-NIR Regional Law Enforcement Service (RLES) conducted an inspection and enforcement operation at the Bacolod South Ceres Terminal.

The inspection revealed that the 10 buses checked passed without any violations or apprehensions recorded, as reported by the RLES. "The RLES reiterates its commitment to maintaining road safety and ensuring that all motorists and public transport operators comply with existing transportation laws and regulations," it stated.

In La Carlota City, the LTO District Office inspected 17 motor vehicles, including nine tricycles and eight buses, with all passing safety and compliance checks. Similarly, the LTO Himamaylan City District Office checked 17 vehicles, consisting of 10 buses and seven tricycles, all of which passed inspection as well.

Additionally, a total of 10 vehicles, including nine buses and one utility vehicle, inspected at the Ceres bus terminal in E.B. Magalona town were found compliant with travel regulations. The vehicles were inspected in line with the enforcement of Republic Act 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code, and the implementation of the 'no registration, no travel' policy.
