Manila: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) plans to file administrative charges against a social media creator who recorded himself speeding in a video that went viral. In a statement Monday, LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao said the video, uploaded to the 'Boss J' Facebook page, showed the creator driving dangerously at up to 189 kilometers an hour in an expressway.
According to Philippines News Agency, a show cause order summoned the rider to appear before the LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division to face administrative charges of 'Reckless Driving' and 'Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle' at the LTO Central Office at 3 p.m. on Thursday. The driver's license has been temporarily suspended while the investigation is ongoing, and the motorcycle has been placed on alarm.
In the video uploaded on the Boss J Facebook page on Saturday, a man is seen driving a green motorcycle up to 189 kilometers per hour and making multiple overtakes on an expressway. At the end of the video, the driver said he was ticketed at the expressway exit for speeding.
