Quezon city: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has summoned vlogger Norman Mangusin after a video showing him violating multiple traffic laws went viral. The footage captured Mangusin driving a Ford Expedition while committing several infractions.
According to Philippines News Agency, LTO Chief Markus Lacanilao announced that Mangusin has been issued a show cause order to attend a hearing with the LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division at the LTO Central Office in Quezon City. The viral video allegedly shows the vlogger driving with fake license plates, not wearing a seatbelt, and using a mobile phone, all of which are considered distracted driving and pose risks to other motorists.
As a consequence, Mangusin's driver's license has been temporarily suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle has been flagged to prevent any LTO transactions. Furthermore, he has been instructed to provide a verified explanation as to why he should not face charges for multiple violations, including Failure to Attach Authorized Motor Vehicle License Plate, Mandatory Use of Seatbelt, Distracted Driving, Reckless Driving, and Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle.
Lacanilao emphasized that if Mangusin fails to appear before the LTO, he will forfeit his right to defend himself, and the agency will proceed with deliberations based on the available evidence.
