Manila: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has suspended and summoned the owners of three vehicles allegedly involved in a street race and a crash in Quezon City on Monday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the LTO issued show cause orders (SCO) to the registered owners and drivers of a Toyota Fortuner, a Ford Raptor, and a Toyota Hilux linked to the incident along E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue near St. Luke's Medical Center in Barangay Kalusugan, Quezon City.

Dashcam footage and an investigation by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Traffic Sector 4 revealed that the Toyota Fortuner was speeding on the wrong side of the road when it collided with a Yamaha Mio Aerox motorcycle. The motorcycle rider was injured in the crash.

Shortly after the initial collision, a Ford Raptor, which was reportedly chasing the Fortuner, braked abruptly to avoid the fallen motorcycle rider, and was rear-ended by a Toyota Hilux, also allegedly participating in the race.

Due to the incident, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao has enacted a 90-day suspension of the drivers' licenses involved, pending further proceedings. The drivers have been called to a hearing before the LTO to address potential violations, including 'Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, and Driving Against Traffic.'
