Cebu: The Airports Council International (ACI) World has recognized the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) as the Best Airport in Asia Pacific in the 5 to 15 million passengers per annum category.

According to Philippines News Agency, ACI, in partnership with technology firm Amadeus, announced the winners on March 10. Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation (ACAC) chief executive officer Athanasios Titonis expressed pride in the achievement, stating that they have been striving to deliver a world-class airport experience and enhance the perception of airports in the Philippines. He emphasized that this recognition is crucial to their vision of becoming the main tourism and transfer gateway in the country.

ACI's Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Award acknowledges airport excellence in customer experience based on direct passenger feedback. The award measures passenger satisfaction in real time, gathering feedback directly from travelers at the airport.

Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) general manager Julius Neri credited the recognition to the collaborative effort of all stakeholders and partners. He highlighted the pride that MCIA has brought not only to Cebuanos but also to the entire Philippines.

ACI World Director General Justin Erbacci noted that MCIA's recognition underscores the team's capability to ensure each passenger's trip is memorable and enjoyable. Managed by ACAC, MCIA accommodates over 11 million international and domestic passengers annually.
