Madis and Aludo Secure Doubles Victory at J60 PHINMA-ITF 1st Leg

Makati city: Tennielle Madis and Stefi Marithe Aludo of the Philippine Tennis Academy clinched the doubles title in the first leg of the J60 PHINMA-ITF Championships, which concluded Sunday at the Manila Polo Club shell court. The third-seeded duo achieved a decisive 6-2, 7-5 win against the second-seeded Taiwanese pair Yuhan Chen and Yu-Ning Tsai, marking their fifth career title.

According to Philippines News Agency, Madis and Aludo showcased strong performance in the semifinals by defeating Japan's Aoi Watanabe and Korea's Yesung Choo with a score of 6-4, 6-2. Meanwhile, Chen and Tsai advanced to the finals by overcoming Australia's Taylah Lessue and Korea's Seojin Park, 6-2, 6-4.

In the girls' singles category, third seed Yesung Choo made a comeback by defeating seventh seed Stefi Marithe Aludo, 6-2, 6-2. Aludo, who had previously ousted No. 2 seed Watanabe in the semifinals, expressed her determination to perform better in the second leg of the tournament.

The boys' singles final saw third seed Min Hyuk Cho of Korea triumphing over compatriot and second seed Tae Woo Kim, 7-5, 6-3. Cho had earlier secured a victory against India's Hruthik Katakam, while Kim advanced by defeating Thailand's Ryu Kotikula.

In the boys' doubles event, Tae Woo Kim partnered with Taiwan's Kuan-Ting Chen to claim victory over the fourth-seeded Taiwanese pair Kousuke Ko and Kuan-Hsien Yu, with a score of 7-5, 6-1. The second leg of the tournament is scheduled to take place from July 22 to 27.
