Malasiqui Schools to Conduct Incident Drills in Response to Tacloban Shooting

Malasiqui: The Malasiqui Police Station will lead incident drills in schools this week as part of preparedness measures for teachers and students following the shooting incident in Tacloban City. Lt. Col. Francisco Sawadan Jr. stated that the drills will encompass scenarios such as live shooting indoors and outdoors, hacking, and mauling incidents.

According to Philippines News Agency, these drills aim to assess and enhance the readiness of students and teachers in handling potential threats. Lt. Col. Sawadan emphasized the importance of such exercises, noting that an orientation will first be conducted to inform participants of what to expect and how to respond effectively. This initiative will become a regular activity in schools to ensure ongoing preparedness.

Sawadan highlighted that the police have increased their presence in schools and are collaborating with force multipliers in local barangays to bolster security.
