Manila: The city government of Manila on Tuesday announced the temporary closure of several roads near the vicinity of venues for the 2026 Bar examinations.

According to Philippines News Agency, the road closures will be implemented on Sept. 6, 9, and 13. San Beda University in Mendiola and the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Espa±a are among the venues for this year's Bar exams. The closed roads include Mendiola Street from Peace Arch up to Concepcion Aguila Street, Concepcion Aguila Street from Mendiola up to Jose P. Laurel Street, and Legarda Street (partial) from San Rafael Street up to Mendiola (Eastbound only). These closures will be in effect from 2 a.m. to 7 p.m.

For the UST venue, the roads affected are Dapitan Street, which will be fully closed from Lacson Avenue to P. Noval, from 2 a.m. to 7 p.m. Espa±a Boulevard will see two westbound lanes closed from Gate 2 to P. Noval Street on Sept. 6 and 9, from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Sept. 13, from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. Additionally, Espa±a Boulevard will experience a full closure of all westbound lanes from Lacson Avenue to P. Noval Street on Sept. 13, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Motorists and commuters are advised to plan their trips in advance and use alternative routes whenever possible. The city government has requested the public's understanding and cooperation to help maintain order, safety, and smooth traffic flow.

A total of 14,291 applicants have registered for this year's Bar examinations.
