Manila City Government Distributes Allowances to Over 56,000 PWD Residents

Manila: Residents of the City of Manila who are members of the vulnerable sector, particularly persons with disabilities (PWDs), numbering more than 56,000, will now begin to receive their monthly allowance.

According to Philippines News Agency, in a video message posted on social media on Thursday, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno announced that the PHP1,000 monthly allowance for July and August is ready for release. "Starting Dec. 11, we will be releasing the PWD allowance. We are ready to give your allowance. That's why we are updating our obligation," he stated.

A total of PHP55,898,000 has been released by the local government unit, benefiting 56,406 adult and minor PWDs. The city has 46,784 adult PWDs who will receive PHP46,699,000, and 9,622 minor PWDs, who will receive PHP9,199,000. Mayor Moreno urged residents to wait for announcements from their barangay officials regarding the collection of the allowances.
