Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has instructed the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) to prioritize the establishment of quality housing projects in close proximity to workplaces, transport terminals, and essential government services.
According to Philippines News Agency, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro announced during a briefing that President Marcos and DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, along with other agency officials, convened for a meeting to assess the department's achievements and ongoing initiatives. The President emphasized the need for the DHSUD to advance flexible and affordable housing solutions for low- and middle-income families. This includes promoting rental housing and other programs, while also simplifying the processes for home acquisition.
The President has also mandated the streamlining of payment processes to alleviate the financial stress on beneficiaries. Since the beginning of his administration, Marcos has been actively advocating for the provision of decent, affordable, and quality housing for Filipino families. In alignment with this vision, the government remains committed to enhancing living standards and fostering inclusive growth.
