Washington d.c.: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced that his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA), scheduled for July 28, is currently 80 percent complete and will primarily focus on ongoing social and economic programs amid a changing national landscape. In a discussion with the Philippine media delegation in Washington D.C., Marcos highlighted the evolving state of the nation as a key factor differentiating this year's address from previous ones.
According to Philippines News Agency, Marcos elaborated that the address will concentrate on the government's social projects aimed at assisting those in need. He emphasized the continuity of the programs initiated during his term and expressed hope that they would persist beyond his presidency. Despite his three-day working visit to the United States, Marcos assured that the SONA preparations have been progressing steadily.
Marcos mentioned that the speech is predominantly written, with only minor adjustments remaining. He plans to finalize the revisions upon his return to Manila. The President is set to deliver his fourth SONA on Monday before a joint session of the 20th Congress at the Batasan Pambansa in Quezon City.
