Marikina LGU, Sakai Launch Language Program to Facilitate Employment in Japan

Marikina: The city government of Marikina, in collaboration with Sakai Town, Japan, and Onodera User Run, has initiated a six-month Nihonggo training program at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina (PLMAR). This initiative aims to equip students and fresh graduates with essential language skills for employment opportunities in Japan.

According to Philippines News Agency, Marikina City Mayor Marjorie Ann 'Maan' Teodoro emphasized the significance of the program, highlighting the availability of the Onodera User Run facility in Marikina. She invited fresh graduates to take advantage of the free language training offered by the learning centers, which could lead to better job opportunities.

Mayor Teodoro explained that the in-person classes are specifically designed to cater to industries such as caregiving, hotel accommodation, and food service-sectors where language proficiency is vital for overseas employment. The program not only aims to help job seekers meet Japan's basic language requirements but also prepares them for long-term integration and success abroad.

Teodoro assured that the partnership with Onodera User Run Ltd., a trusted and reputable organization, ensures safe recruitment. The organization provides comprehensive support, from training to job placement and daily life assistance in Japan. She expressed her belief that the program would increase the number of skilled and job-ready individuals from Marikina pursuing opportunities in Japan and serve as a model for other local governments in the Philippines.

The launch event was graced by Sakai Mayor Masahiro Hashimoto, who reiterated Sakai's commitment to strengthening its friendship with Marikina through education and cooperation. "We will make more efforts in developing and promoting Japanese education in Marikina," Hashimoto remarked.
