Manila: Energy Secretary Sharon Garin has assured the public of continued reforms on energy security, sustainability, and affordability. Garin, who was sworn-in by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday, emphasized that reforms initiated by her predecessor, Raphael Lotilla, who now leads the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, will remain a focal point of the department's agenda moving forward.
According to Philippines News Agency, Garin highlighted the acceleration of renewable energy development, the expansion of electrification efforts, the enhancement of energy resiliency, and the continued strengthening of the investment climate as key components of the strategy. She noted that initiatives such as the Green Energy Auction, the growth in renewable energy capacity, and increasing investor confidence are indicative of progress in advancing the President's policy agenda.
Garin reiterated that these initiatives align with long-term energy goals and broader aspirations for inclusive and sustainable national development. As the department advances, it will prioritize collaboration, uphold transparency, and pursue innovative and responsive energy solutions to ensure a reliable, secure, and sustainable energy future for all Filipinos.
