Marikina: Marikina Mayor Maan Teodoro has mobilized the city's disaster response teams to clear waterways, ready evacuation sites, and ensure swift assistance to communities that might be affected by the looming super typhoon Uwan. Teodoro led a coordination meeting with the Marikina City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) on Friday to ensure the city's full preparedness and swift response to the poor weather.

According to Philippines News Agency, Teodoro ordered all concerned departments to conduct massive declogging operations in waterways and preposition rescue boats in strategic areas. She emphasized the importance of ensuring the smooth flow of water and quick response for possible evacuations by positioning rescue boats at flood-prone barangays.

Teodoro also announced that a total of 36 evacuation camps are on standby should there be a need to evacuate families. Community kitchens in the city have already been mobilized to provide immediate hot meals for possible evacuees. Furthermore, personnel of the Marikina City Health Office are prepared to respond to urgent medical needs that may arise during the cyclone's onslaught.

The mayor highlighted the necessity of coordination among all departments to ensure the safety and welfare of Marikina residents during this critical time.
