The Melaka Museum Corporation (Perzim) has introduced a packaged entrance pass for tourists to visit all the museums under its supervision for a single payment.

State Tourism, Heritage, Arts and Culture Committee deputy chairman Datuk Zaidi Attan said for the first phase, the entrance pass could be used to visit five museums, namely the Melaka Art Gallery, Youth Museum, History and Ethnography Museum, Flor de Lar Mar Maritime Museum and Naval Museum, all for a price of RM30.

“We are also planning to introduce the second phase of the entrance pass to visit five more museums, including the People’s Museum, Melaka Sultanate Palace Museum and Stamp Museum.

“The use of this entrance pass not only facilitates visitors and tourists to visit all 20 museums and eight galleries under Perzim’s supervision but also helps to save on ticket fees,” he told reporters here today.

He further said the entrance fee collected for all the museums could ensure that the state heritage buildings or assets are well-maintained to be passed down to future generations.

In another development, Zaidi said various historical reenactments would be staged in February next year, in conjunction with Visit Melaka Year 2024.

“These historical enactments will be based on documentation stored in the National Archives and this effort will be carried out in collaboration with the National Unity Ministry,” he said.

He said this effort was aimed at educating the people and tourists about the history of Melaka, instilling a sense of identity and patriotic spirit in the younger generation and strengthening unity among the people in the state and the country.
