KUALA LUMPUR, The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms and heavy rain in a number of states until 3am (Oct 17). MetMalaysia in a statement issued at 10pm informed that thunderstorms are forecast in Sarawak, affecting Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu and Kanowit), Kapit (Song), Miri (Marudi) and Limbang. Similar conditions are forecast in Labuan and Sabah and the affected areas include the interior areas (Sipitang, Tenom, Nabawan, Keningau and Tambunan) as well as Sandakan (Tongod and Sandakan).
