Misamis Oriental Explores Economic Collaboration Opportunities with Taiwan

Manila: The provincial government of Misamis Oriental on Monday expressed its openness to collaborating with Taiwan.

According to Philippines News Agency, Administrator Ruel Gayoso highlighted that Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) Representative Wallace Minn-Gan Chow's visit last July 22 opened possibilities for linkages between the province's agriculture and labor sectors. "This will bode well especially for our overseas Filipino workers," he said.

Gayoso further mentioned that Gov. Juliette Uy has considered the benefits for the agriculture sector's sustainability through potential supply chains. The Provincial Tourism Office facilitated Chow's recent visit to the province.

In a separate statement, Chow expressed interest in cooperation, stating, "Misamis Oriental is one of our priorities for cooperation, and we will work closely together."

To further strengthen the partnership, Celso Abucejo, special assistant to the governor, proposed the creation of a comprehensive development plan and a technical working group to enhance the collaboration between Misamis Oriental and the TECO.
