MisOcc Vows Tourist Protection During Stay in Province

Manila: The province of Misamis Occidental has pledged to safeguard tourists visiting its key destinations.

According to Philippines News Agency, Governor Henry Oaminal Sr. stated that tourists will not only benefit from the active presence of law enforcers but also from relatively affordable food and accommodation prices. He highlighted that tourism facilities managed by the provincial government will offer lower rates, particularly at the newly inaugurated Asenso Misamis Occidental Recreation and Adventure Park (AMORAP).

Oaminal mentioned that while similar upscale villas typically charge PHP40,000 for a night's stay, the province is offering accommodation at AMORAP for PHP10,000. Additionally, residents of the province are entitled to a 50 percent discount.

This week marked the opening of AMORAP, which is being promoted as the "Maldives in Mindanao," as part of the province's ongoing efforts to boost tourism and support the local economy. Furthermore, Misamis Occidental is currently hosting major events organized by the Miss Universe Philippines from April 22-26, with plans to appoint the winners as tourism ambassadors.
