Manila: Motorists are advised that 44 national road sections in eight cities in Metro Manila are flooded (light to moderate) with two roads currently impassable, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said Monday.
According to Philippines News Agency, the DPWH-National Capital Region (NCR) indicated in a social media post that the two impassable roads are G. Araneta Avenue (southbound) from Kaliraya St. to E. Rodriguez Sr. and G. Araneta Avenue (northbound) from E. Rodriguez Sr. to Kaliraya St. The flood height in these road sections was reported to be 100 centimeters as of Monday noon.
In addition, 33 roads are inundated but remain passable to all types of vehicles, while nine other roads are accessible only to heavy vehicles due to limited access.
The DPWH-NCR has deployed Quick Response Teams to declog drainages in affected areas and assist stranded motorists. Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes to avoid the flooded roads for safety and convenience.
In the City of Manila, several roads remain passable despite flood heights ranging from 5 cm to 30 cm. These roads include Espa±a Boulevard, Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard, Blumentritt Road, Tayuman corner Jose Abad Santos Avenue, Mel Lopez Boulevard, Roxas Boulevard, Taft Avenue, T.M. Kalaw Avenue, and others.
In Quezon City, Mandaluyong City, and Para±aque City, roads with flood heights from 20 cm to 40 cm have limited access. These include Regalado Ave., G. Araneta, Sto. Domingo Ave., Maria Clara St., Gen. Luis St., Boni Avenue, and Sucat Road.
The roads in Quezon City and Para±aque still accessible include Quezon Ave. and Sucat Road. Meanwhile, in Malabon City, Pasay City, and Navotas City, several roads with flood heights from 10 cm to 30 cm remain passable. These roads include Gov. W Pascual Ave., C. Arellano St., P. Aquino St., Sanciangco St., M.H. Del Pilar, Tramo, Andrews Avenue, Road 10, and Northbay Boulevard.
In Valenzuela City, roads with flood heights from 11 cm to 30 cm, such as MacArthur Highway and its intersections, are accessible.
