MTRCB Announces 5 Family-Friendly Movies for Holy Week

Manila: The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) announced five family-friendly movies that can be enjoyed by Filipinos in theaters this Holy Week. In a statement, MTRCB chair and chief executive officer Lala Sotto-Antonio said these films are rated PG, allowing children under the age of 13 to watch with the guidance of parents or supervising adults.

According to Philippines News Agency, Antonio urged the public to continue supporting age-appropriate films this week. She emphasized that all MTRCB-classified materials are not only entertaining but also safe for viewers of different age groups. The selected movies include 'The King of Kings,' an animated Christian film inspired by the children's book The Life of our Lord; 'Sneaks,' an animated sports comedy; and 'Colorful Stage! The Movie: A Miku Who Can't Sing,' an animated musical drama based on the mobile game 'Hatsume Miku: Colorful Stage.'

Also included are 'Fatherland,' which tells the story of a young man from America seeking his long-lost father in the Philippines, and 'Zerobaseone: The First Tour (Timeless World),' a concert film of the Korean P-pop boy group 'Zerobaseone.'

Antonio also highlighted the Filipino-produced film 'Samahan ng mga Makasalanan' starring David Licuaco and Sanya Lopez, which received an R-13 rating and is suitable for viewers 13 years old and above. Additionally, the R-16 movies recommended for 16 and older include 'Sinner,' an American historical supernatural action-horror starring Michael Jordan, and 'Warfare,' a British-American war action film based on real experiences in Iraq.
