NBI Arrests Two Vietnamese Nationals for Illegal Medical Practice in Para±aque City

Para±aque city: The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has announced the arrest of two foreign nationals for allegedly practicing medicine illegally in Para±aque City.

According to Philippines News Agency, Nguyen The Tang and Mai Quy Loc, also known under the alias Do Thi Binh, were apprehended on August 15. They were reportedly operating a beauty clinic and providing medical procedures and medicines without the required permits.

The NBI's statement highlighted that the services offered by the suspects included chin fillers, sexy alar trim, liposuction, rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, and facelifts, all of which they advertised online. Upon investigation, it was found that neither Nguyen The Tang nor Mai Quy Loc had been granted a special temporary permit or a special permit by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) to practice medicine in the country.

The NBI emphasized that the arrests are part of their ongoing efforts to protect the public from unauthorized and potentially harmful medical practices. The two individuals now face inquest proceedings on charges that include illegal practice of medicine, sale of unregistered health products, and the adulteration and misbranding of health products.

Earlier, on August 7, two other Vietnamese individuals were arrested by the Southern Police District in Barangay Poblacion, Makati, for conducting illegal aesthetic procedures. The authorities confiscated significant evidence from the clinic, including multiple boxes and vials of Botulax and Botox for cosmetic use, various mesotherapy solutions and fillers, syringes, microcannula needles, and other surgical supplies. Additionally, anesthesia, medical tools, official receipts, client forms, sales invoices, identification cards of the suspects, and cash, including buy-bust money and recovered clinic funds, were also seized.
