NegOcc Strengthens Alliance with Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade on 40th Anniversary

Negros occidental: Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson expressed his appreciation for the service of the Philippine Army's 303rd Infantry Brigade (IBde) to Negrenses as the unit marked its 40th founding anniversary on Wednesday. Lacson was the guest of honor during the celebration held at the brigade headquarters in Camp Nelson L. Gerona in Barangay Minoyan, Murcia.

According to Philippines News Agency, Lacson received a plaque of appreciation from 303IBde commander Brig. Gen. Ted Dumosmog, in the presence of 3rd Infantry Division commander Maj. Gen. Michael Samson. The unit acknowledged the governor's invaluable support to the 303IBde 'in pursuit for peace and development in the Negros Island Region,' adding that his 'commitment and continued partnership have greatly contributed to the accomplishment of the unit's mission.' He also joined Dumosmog in the wreath-laying ceremony to honor the fallen members of the 303IBde.

Lacson, who chairs the Regional Peace and Order Council in Negros Island Region, emphasized that the 303IBde is 'one of the institutions whose contributions are not measured solely by public recognition, but by the confidence they inspire and the stability they preserve.' He added that the provincial government deeply values the enduring partnership it has built with the Armed Forces of the Philippines, particularly with the 303IBde.

Lacson highlighted the collaborative efforts over the years in maintaining peace and security, responding to disasters, supporting community development initiatives, protecting vulnerable communities, and advancing programs that improve the lives of fellow Negrenses. He noted that meaningful achievements are the result of partners coming together, united by a common purpose, and a shared commitment to serve the greater good.

Expressing his hopes for the future, Lacson encouraged the 303IBde to 'continue to uphold the best traditions of military service and strengthen the bonds you have built with the communities you serve.' He concluded by wishing the brigade to inspire the next generation of soldiers to lead with courage, humility, and honor.
