Bicol: New Bicol Police chief, Brig. Gen. Erosito Miranda, on Friday committed to ensuring that the quality of police services is felt and appreciated to promote peace and security in the region. In a command turnover ceremony at the Police Regional Office 5 (Bicol Region) grandstand at Camp Simeon Ola, Miranda pledged to make the PRO-5 a dependable ally of the local government units, other government agencies, the private sector, and the general public.

According to Philippines News Agency, Miranda emphasized the importance of pursuing the Philippine National Police focus agenda, ensuring that strategies lead to tangible peace and security in communities. He assured that the PNP would remain steadfast in its mission. Miranda also highlighted the significance of the police force's welfare, morale, and internal discipline, stating that any violations of the law would not be tolerated, aiming to gain public trust.

Miranda urged all members of the PRO-5 to embody unity and dedication in fulfilling their responsibilities. He encouraged them to join him in achieving commitments with a unified purpose and a genuine desire for peace, order, security, and safety. He called for a collective effort to serve and protect the Bicol Region and its people.

Miranda succeeded Brig. Gen. Nestor Babagay Jr., who took on the role of Deputy Director of the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management. Originally from Las Pi±as City and residing in General Santos City, Miranda is an esteemed member of the PNP Academy Patnubay Class of 1995. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree, graduating cum laude from the Mindanao State University - Philippine Cambridge School of Law.

Before his current role at PRO-5, Miranda served as the Deputy Regional Director for Operations of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), where he played a significant role in developing major operational strategies and enhancing security measures in Metro Manila.
