New Davao Police Executives Collaborate with MinDA for Regional Safety

Davao city: Newly designated heads of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU), and Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP) have committed to closer coordination with the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) to uphold peace and public safety in the region.

According to Philippines News Agency, MinDA Chairperson and Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security-Davao (CORDS-11), Secretary Leo Tereso Magno, welcomed the officials during their July 30 visit and assured them of the agency's continued support. He emphasized that cooperation among security units is crucial for maintaining Davao City's peace and progress.

Magno called on DCPO's newly appointed chief, Col. Mannan Muarip, to sustain the progress made by his predecessor. "Davao City has been insurgency-free for several years now. The challenge before us is to preserve that peace and continue ensuring the safety and security of the public," Magno said.

Magno also expressed confidence in TEU chief Lt. Col. Christian Antonio Garcia and AVSEGROUP officer Arniel Augustine Catarata, assuring them of MinDA's ongoing coordination and assistance. He highlighted the Marcos administration's main policy on peace and security, which focuses on improving inter-agency coordination, professionalizing the police, and providing responsive and inclusive public safety services.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has consistently emphasized the importance of safeguarding communities, removing internal threats, and fostering stable conditions that support national growth and development.
