Manila: The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Friday reported that it has surpassed its July 2025 collection target by PHP1.094 billion or 1.3 percent. Based on a preliminary report, the bureau collected a total of PHP85.459 billion, surpassing its PHP84.365 billion target.
According to Philippines News Agency, the July collection is so far the highest monthly collection this year, reflecting a 6.4 percent increase from the PHP80.355 billion collected in July 2024 and a rise from the PHP77.035 billion posted in June 2025. From January to July 2025, the BOC collected a total of PHP544.230 billion in revenues, reinforcing its role in supporting the fiscal and economic agenda of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
The BOC attributed the July performance to the combined efforts of all 17 collection districts and targeted revenue sources. These include collections from unpaid post-entry modifications, government importations under the Tax Expenditure Fund (TEF) amounting to PHP3.103 billion, and the Post-Clearance Audit Group's (PCAG) collection of PHP136.94 million.
It noted that the positive collection was achieved despite a 4.5-day suspension of operations due to severe weather conditions that disrupted port activities and customs processing nationwide. Since assuming office, Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno has championed reforms focused on transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency. "This achievement shows the power of good governance. With integrity and focus, we will continue to deliver results that benefit the Filipino people and support the President's vision for nation-building," he said in a statement.
