COTABATO CITY: Col. Joel Estaris assumed the acting provincial director of the Maguindanao del Norte police office on Wednesday, succeeding Col. Sultan Salman Sapal, who has been reassigned to the regional police headquarters. According to Philippines News Agency, the turnover ceremony, held at the old provincial capitol in Barangay Crossing Simuay, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte, was presided over by Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) Director Brig. Gen. Romeo Macapaz. Before his appointment, Estaris served as chief of the Regional Headquarters Support Division in Camp S.K. Pendatun, Parang, Maguindanao del Norte. He also briefly held the post of Cotabato City police director. Macapaz praised Sapal for his service and urged Estaris to inspire police personnel to foster peace and progress in the province. 'Let us continue working towards a peaceful and progressive Bangsamoro community,' Macapaz said, emphasizing PRO-BAR's commitment to regional peace and development. He als o thanked Governor Abdulraof Macacua for his unwavering support of the police's efforts against criminality, terrorism, and illegal drugs. Estaris encouraged police officers to be peacebuilders in their communities while performing their duties as law enforcers.
