Bangkok: No Filipino nationals were hurt in the tragic school shooting in Thailand that killed seven and injured scores on Friday, said the Philippine Embassy in Thailand.

According to Philippines News Agency, the embassy confirmed that all eight registered Filipino teachers at Debsirin School Nonthaburi are safe, accounted for, and uninjured. In a statement, the Philippine Embassy extended its deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, as well as to the entire school community and the Thai government following the tragic incident.

The embassy also expressed hopes for the speedy and full recovery of those injured in the shooting. It emphasized that the Philippines stands in solidarity with Thailand during this period of mourning.

The embassy remains vigilant, continuing to monitor the situation closely and prepared to offer any necessary assistance to its nationals.

Local reports indicated that the shooting began at approximately 10:12 a.m. (03:12 GMT) on the sixth floor of the school's building 5. Police identified the suspected shooter as a student at the school, who reportedly took his own life after carrying out the attack.
