Antique: The provincial disaster risk reduction and management office (PDRRMO) has reported that no rain-induced landslides have occurred in Antique, despite heavy rainfall resulting from Tropical Depression Verbena. PDRRMO Operations chief Melquiades Legaspi stated in an interview on Tuesday that they have been closely monitoring the province's situation since Monday. All major road networks from Antique to Iloilo and Aklan remain passable.
According to Philippines News Agency, Legaspi confirmed that no landslides have been observed in the province, and no families have been preemptively evacuated. The PDRRMO has been coordinating with municipal counterparts to monitor major rivers, such as the Sibalom River, which has not overflowed.
Local DRRM III Michael Tolentino has advised the public to stay vigilant as the rain continues due to the weather disturbance. The response cluster of the PDRRM council is maintaining the prepositioning of their assets until the alert status at the Emergency Operation Center is reduced from red to blue, contingent on improvements in weather conditions.
