According to Philippines News Agency, NPC President Mina Navarro emphasized the event's role in fostering fellowship among journalists, partners, and friends from both public and private sectors, while underscoring the importance of responsible firearm ownership.
"The NPC Shootfest is part of the Club's continuing efforts to strengthen camaraderie and foster meaningful fellowship among members of the media, our partners, and friends from both the public and private sectors. At the same time, we want to promote responsible gun ownership by reminding firearm owners that guns should never be instruments of violence or intimidation, but should only be used, when absolutely necessary and as a last resort, to protect one's life," Navarro stated.
Navarro highlighted the Club's commitment to responsible firearm ownership and the necessity for legal firearm owners to exercise responsibility, discipline, and respect for the law. "Responsible gun ownership means understanding that a firearm carries with it an immense responsibility. It should always be used to protect life, never to promote violence or endanger others," she added.
The activity also serves as a fundraising initiative to support the Club's welfare programs and services for its qualified members and their immediate families. "As a non-stock, non-profit organization, we rely heavily on fundraising activities such as the NPC Shootfest to sustain our programs and services for our members," Navarro explained.
She expressed gratitude to the event's partners and sponsors, including the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Philippine Sports Commission, Association of Firearms and Ammunition Dealers of the Philippines, Armscor Global Defense Corp, and the Philippine National Police, as well as individuals who purchased tickets and contributed to making the event possible.
