NU Eyes 3-Peat vs. La Salle in UAAP Baseball

Manila: National University eyes a historic three-peat against De La Salle University in Game 1 of the UAAP Season 88 men's baseball title series on Tuesday at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium in Malate, Manila. Game time is at 8 a.m.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Bulldogs swept the Green Batters in the double-round eliminations, with scores of 14-4 and 10-5. NU head coach Romar Landicho expressed the need for readiness against La Salle's strategies, saying, "I know La Salle will really strategize, so we have to prepare for anything that happens and we are ready for the Finals."

Jherick Timban was a standout performer for NU, delivering a decisive three-RBI home run in their 7-4 win over the University of the Philippines in the Final Four last Saturday. This performance has bolstered the Bulldogs' confidence as they head into the finals.

On the other side, La Salle, known as the league's most prolific hitting and scoring team, secured their spot in the finals by pulling off a 7-5 victory over Adamson University. La Salle head coach Joseph Orillana emphasized the importance of execution, stating, "All we have to do was execute what we needed to do in the game like the signals, the chants, the hits and runs, then the rest would follow."

The championship series promises intense action, with Game 2 scheduled on April 17 at 8 a.m., and a deciding Game 3, if necessary, on April 21.
