Manila: Investigators of the Office of the Ombudsman's (OMB) Special Task Force have been instructed to prioritize flood control projects in areas affected by Typhoon Tino in their ongoing probe. "The Office of the Ombudsman stands in mourning with the nation for the lives lost in the devastation caused by Typhoon Tino. To the families of all victims of the calamity - we hear you, and we have acted," Assistant Ombudsman Mico Clavano stated.

According to Philippines News Agency, a special task force previously designated to investigate flood control projects has now been instructed to prioritize those projects meant to prevent the onslaught of Typhoon Tino. Justice will be pursued with compassion, diligence, and resolve, Clavano emphasized.

Meanwhile, the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) assured the public that it will pursue anyone identified by evidence in its investigation, regardless of political affiliation. "The commission is continuously investigating and doing case build-up grounded on evidence; and to whoever the evidence points to, the commission will include them in its report and referral to the Office of the Ombudsman," ICI Executive Director Brian Hosaka declared.

"It goes without saying that the ICI is here to fight corruption and make all individuals responsible for the anomalous infrastructure projects brought to justice. That's the ICI's purpose, and the commission is fueled by that mandate," Hosaka added.
