Online Gov’t Services Boosted in Agusan Norte

Agusan del Norte: Residents across Agusan del Norte province now have enhanced access to online government services, thanks to the recent installation of 37 new free Wi-Fi sites in various cities and municipalities. On Friday, the Department of Information and Communications Technology in Caraga Region (DICT-13) announced that these new sites have been established in selected public areas, directly providing residents with convenient access to a range of online government services.

According to Philippines News Agency, 'The installation of these sites was successfully completed under the Provision of Internet Connectivity Services to Public Places (PICS-PP) Phase 3, a program that prioritizes community hubs to maximize public benefit,' the agency said in a statement. PICS-PP is a regional initiative designed to deliver free and reliable internet access in busy public areas. The program's coverage includes the towns of Buenavista, Carmen, Jabonga, Kitcharao, Magallanes, Nasipit, Remedios T. Romualdez, Santiago, Tubay, and Cabadbaran City.

Residents in these areas can now access free Wi-Fi in key public locations such as municipal halls, plazas, gyms, and various government offices. 'The DICT is steadfast in its commitment to providing local communities with free and reliable internet access through the broader 'Free Wi-Fi For All' initiative,' DICT-13 said.
