Over 24,000 Runners Participate in Iloilo’s Milo Marathon Finals

Iloilo: Over 24,000 runners from across the nation have gathered for the 2025 Milo Marathon national finals, set to take place on Sunday. The event will feature races of varying distances, including 42 kilometers, 21 kilometers, 10 kilometers, 5 kilometers, and 3 kilometers.

According to Philippines News Agency, Milo Philippines senior vice president Veronica Cruz highlighted the inclusive nature of this year's marathon, which will feature participants from the persons with disability sector. Cruz emphasized the event's focus on inclusivity and increasing youth participation by partnering with schools. She noted that the marathon serves as a prelude to Milo's 50th anniversary in 2026 and aims to instill values of grit, discipline, and teamwork.

Milo Sports Program head Carlo Sampan discussed the marathon's role in promoting a healthy lifestyle and stimulating the local economy. He underscored the importance of collaboration with local government units and other stakeholders. Meanwhile, Andrew Neri, general manager of organizer RunRio Inc., assured that safety measures are in place, with close coordination with local government units.

The marathon will commence at La Paz district plaza, with the 42km race starting at 2 a.m., followed by the 21km at 3 a.m., 10km at 3:30 a.m., 3km at 5:30 a.m., and 5km at 5:35 a.m. Each race category will follow distinct routes, beginning and ending at designated areas.
