Baguio: The Police Regional Office-Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO-CAR) has taken significant steps to assure the safety and security of residents and tourists during the holiday season with the deployment of 7,368 police personnel across the region. The initiative aims to maintain peace and order as large crowds gather for Christmas and New Year celebrations.

According to Philippines News Agency, PRO-CAR Regional Director Brig. Gen. Ericson Dilag announced that the security measures will remain in place until January 6, 2026. The deployment includes monitoring major thoroughfares and transport terminals, as well as areas with high tourist activity such as public markets, parks, malls, and places of worship. The heightened police presence is expected to facilitate a quick response to emergencies and deter criminal activities.

In addition to the regular police force, 346 force multipliers and units have been mobilized to further bolster security efforts during the peak holiday period. These measures are intended to enhance crime prevention and ensure public safety in the region.

Brig. Gen. Dilag has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or emergencies to the nearest police station or through official hotlines. Public cooperation is considered essential for maintaining a peaceful and orderly environment throughout the festivities.

The initiative underlines the importance of community involvement in supporting law enforcement efforts and ensuring a secure holiday season for both residents and visitors in the Cordillera region.
