P10.8-M Multipurpose Facility Completed in Bataan Town

Orion: Residents of 1Bataan Village in Barangay Daan Pare, Orion, now have a dedicated venue for community activities and gatherings with the completion of a PHP10.86 million, one-story multipurpose facility by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Bataan 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO).

According to Philippines News Agency, the 342-square-meter facility is expected to significantly enhance social interaction and engagement among the community's more than 6,600 families, including those displaced by the 2019 Barangay Capunitan fire and other informal settlers. Office in charge District Engineer Roland Rainier Victorino mentioned in an interview that the lack of a dedicated event space previously forced residents to travel outside the community for gatherings.

'This project directly addresses that concern by providing a convenient and accessible venue within the area,' he stated. In addition to social events, the facility is designed to accommodate religious services and other community functions, making it a versatile and essential addition to the village.

Funded under the 2024 national budget, the project includes comfort rooms, lighting fixtures, and proper ventilation to ensure a functional and comfortable space for residents.
