Manila: The Ang Bumbero ng Pilipinas (ABP) party-list group is offering a PHP1 million cash reward to anyone who can help authorities track down and arrest the two suspects behind the April killing of Leninsky 'Bogs' Bacud, ABP's 3rd Nominee. In a statement Friday, the organization sought the help of the public, noting the cash reward is ready for anyone who can provide verified, actionable information and assured that all reports will be treated with strict confidentiality.
According to Philippines News Agency, the suspects have been identified as Arnold 'Ford' Glean Umandap and Joshua Hernandez Andaleon. A non-bailable warrant of arrest was issued on July 30 by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 33, in Manila. Police are now on an active manhunt, and all operations are required to be recorded with body-worn cameras.
Bacud was gunned down in broad daylight on April 28 along P. Guevarra St., Barangay 435 in Sampaloc, Manila. "This wasn't just a senseless killing. This was a direct attack on someone who gave his life to serving the public. We owe it to Chief Lenin, his family, and the public to find those responsible and hold them fully accountable," ABP said.
Umandap is the president of a rival group falsely claiming to represent ABP, while Andaleon was allegedly one of the men on the motorcycle during the ambush. Investigators suspect political motives behind the murder. "We're calling on the public-if you've seen these men or know anything about others involved, speak up. Your tip could be the key to delivering justice," ABP said.
The public may contact the authorities through the following numbers: Philippine National Police (PNP) Hotline: 117 and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG): 0951-059-3843.
