P20 Affordable Rice Now Available Across Caraga: DA

Butuan city: The Department of Agriculture in the Caraga Region (DA-13) announced that affordable PHP20 rice will be available throughout the region starting Saturday. In a statement on Friday, the DA-13 indicated that the PHP20 rice will be sold at various designated outlets across different provinces in the region.

According to Philippines News Agency, the initiative falls under the PHP20 Rice Project of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., which aims to bring affordable and quality rice to every Filipino. The designated outlets for the low-cost rice include the DA-13 Regional Office and the City Hall in Butuan City; the PLC Convention Hall in Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur; Surigao City Gymnasium in Surigao del Norte; the Vicente T. Pimentel Jr. Gymnasium in Tandag City, Surigao del Sur; and the Capitol Grounds in San Jose, Dinagat Islands.

Additionally, low-cost rice will be sold at various outlets in Agusan del Norte. These locations include the LGU Farm in Barangay Crossing, Kitcharao; Poblacion 2, Jabonga; Poblacion 2, Santiago; Poblacion, Tubay; Barangay Mahaba, Cabadbaran City; Santo Ni±o, Magallanes; Barangay 2, Buenavista; Poblacion, Las Nieves; Barangay Kinabhangan, Nasipit; and the New Public Market in Carmen.

A resident can purchase up to 10 kilos of affordable rice at any of the designated outlets. The DA-13 encourages residents to bring eco bags or sacks for their purchases. The agency also reminded those who wish to buy the affordable rice to bring any government-issued identification cards.
