General luna: Police seized more than PHP4 million worth of marijuana and arrested a street-level drug suspect during an anti-illegal drugs operation in Barangay Tawin-tawin, General Luna, Surigao del Norte on Friday night.

According to Philippines News Agency, Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office (SDNPPO) Director Col. Warren Dablo reported that the suspect, known by the alias 'May,' aged 29 and a resident of Barangay Poblacion, was found in possession of 14 transparent plastic sachets containing marijuana. The total weight of the seized marijuana was 3,125 grams, with an estimated value of PHP4,375,000.

Col. Dablo emphasized the SDNPPO's ongoing commitment to targeting high-value drug suspects and dismantling drug networks throughout the province. He also called on local residents to support the government's anti-drug campaign by promptly reporting any illegal activities.

The suspect is set to face charges for violating the provisions of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
