Iloilo city: A buy-bust operation conducted by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) in the Arevalo district on Thursday afternoon netted three high-value individuals and seized 700 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP4.76 million.
According to Philippines News Agency, the ICPO reported on Friday that the operation in Barangay Calaparan resulted in the arrest of 'Agi,' 37, "Dona," 46, both single and jobless, and "Gay," 51, a married construction worker. The operatives confiscated 14 plastic sachets containing the suspected drug item, buy-bust money, and other non-drug items.
ICPO director Col. Kim Legada emphasized that the local police will not allow drug traffickers to exploit the holiday season. "We call on the continued support and cooperation of the community to help stop illegal drugs. United, we will stand strong against those who threaten the safety and future of our community," Legada stated.
The suspects are currently under the custody of ICPO Station 6 and will face charges for violations of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
