P6.1-M Marijuana Plants Uprooted and Destroyed in Benguet

Benguet: The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) uprooted PHP6.16 million worth of marijuana plants in two sites in Barangay Tacadang, Kibungan town, Benguet province earlier this week.

According to Philippines News Agency, the PDEA Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) stated that it destroyed over 30,800 fully grown marijuana plants worth PHP6,160,000 on Monday and Tuesday. The operations spanned two days and covered a total of 3,850 square meters.

The first plantation site contained 6,800 marijuana plants with an estimated value of PHP1.36 million. The second site housed 24,000 plants valued at PHP4.80 million. All marijuana plants were torched on-site by operatives, and no cultivators were found during the operation.
