P6.8-M ‘Shabu’ Seized, Two Arrested in Pampanga Buy-Bust

Mabalacat city: Police seized about 1 kg of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP6.8 million and arrested two suspects during an early morning anti-drug operation in Mabalacat City, Pampanga on Saturday. In their 1:12 a.m. buy-bust operation in Sitio Bana, Barangay Dolores, police personnel also confiscated a caliber .45 firearm, a magazine, and four rounds of live ammunition from the two suspects, identified as 'Kuya' and 'Panggay,' both categorized as high-value individuals in the government's anti-illegal drugs campaign.

According to Philippines News Agency, the suspects are in police custody and are expected to face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, along with firearms-related offenses. Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez, Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 (Central Luzon) director, commended the Mabalacat City Police's Drug Enforcement Unit, with support from Pampanga's 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 3, for the successful operation.

Mendez stated, "This accomplishment reflects our firm commitment to the PNP (Philippine National Police's) Focused Agenda, particularly in enhancing police operations and strengthening our campaign against illegal drugs and loose firearms. We will continue to intensify our efforts to ensure the safety of our communities."

He added that PRO-3 will sustain intelligence-driven operations to dismantle drug networks and maintain peace and order across Central Luzon.
