Quezon city: The Pag-IBIG Fund and the Quezon City government have reaffirmed their commitment to providing more affordable and decent housing to city residents and employees.
According to Philippines News Agency, the move was a significant step in bolstering local housing efforts under the Marcos administration's Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program. Among the key points discussed were the development prospects of the Sta. Monica Housing Project and Freedom Towers, which are being eyed for implementation under the 4PH initiative.
The city government proposed the integration of its QCitizenHomes projects in Barangays Sauyo and Nagkaisang Nayon into Pag-IBIG Fund's housing programs through title unitization, a process that aims to fast-track ownership transfer and legal documentation for beneficiaries. It also expressed interest in availing Pag-IBIG Fund's Acquired Assets Group Sale Program, which offers special discounts for bulk home purchases. This move would enable the city to provide affordable housing options to its employees.
Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta said working closely with local government units helps more Filipinos achieve their dream of homeownership. Meanwhile, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said the partnership allows synchronized efforts and leveraged strength in delivering inclusive housing solutions. The partnership is expected to further strengthen inter-agency collaboration in support of the national government's housing agenda.
This is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to reduce the housing backlog and uplift the lives of Filipino families through secure and sustainable shelter.
