Pag-IBIG Fund Antique Accepts Calamity Loan Applications Following Storm Opong

Antique: The Pag-IBIG Fund Antique branch has begun accepting calamity loan applications following the provincial government's declaration of a state of calamity due to Severe Tropical Storm (STS) Opong, which struck in late September.

According to Philippines News Agency, Pag-IBIG Fund branch manager Donald Alton Cahilo announced that the branch started processing loan applications from qualified members on Thursday. In an interview on Friday, Cahilo outlined the eligibility criteria, stating, "Those who are qualified to avail of the calamity loan are Pag-IBIG Fund members who have contributions for the past 24 months."

Members who meet the qualifications can access up to 90 percent of their total savings, with the option to repay the loan over a period of up to three years. The decision to offer these loans comes after the province was officially placed under a state of calamity through Resolution No. 619-2025 during its regular session on October 27.

Severe Tropical Storm Opong left significant destruction in its wake, destroying 50 houses and partially damaging 704 more across the province. The availability of calamity loans aims to provide financial relief to affected residents as they work to recover and rebuild.
